I'm sorry to keep harping on about it, but the underlying cause of this, and most of the other problems Cif article after Cif article go endlessly on about, is being overlooked:
The fact that the entire socioeconomic order, on which our civilisation rests, is inherently unjust, inhumane and unsustainable, because a product and facilitator of man's (especially men's) dumb Darwinian nature.
What's preventing us from recognising this, I suggest, is a collective mental block, a form of self-induced, mass posthypnotic suggestion.
Overcoming it and recognising this underlying cause of our problems, won't solve them, but it is a prerequisite of us developing an understanding of ourselves and our situation, which will enable us to find solutions.
The longer we leave it, the more desperate our situation will become.
