Dear Sir, Reading the article in today's Telegraph about the horrific accident
in the Niger Delta, caused by local villagers "stealing" petrol from a
pipeline carrying fuel from an oil refinery, I wondered whom God, looking
down from above, would consider the more culpable thieves: the impoverished
villagers trying to take a tiny share of the oil discovered under THEIR
land, or those in the world's wealthy countries who are stealing this invaluable,
non-renewable natural resource from their children and coming generations
in order to fuel their selfish, non-sustainable, extravagant life styles
(Up to 250 killed in pipeline
blast, 12 July 2000).
