Dear Editor,
Brilliant! Now
we have
something else
- the ideal
distraction! -
at least for
the next 7
years, to keep
our minds off
the ONLY thing
that should
really concern
us: achieving
a sustainable
economy and
ways of life
for 7-9
billion people
on our finite
and vulnerable
planet before
a ruthless
mother nature
does it for
us.
In 2012 Homo
stupidus
will be vainly
celebrating
his sporting
prowess in
London with
the
approaching
tsunami
clearly
visible on the
horizon - for
those who look
up;
caused not by
a shift of
tectonic
plates, but by
too many
people, too
many
millionaires,
multimillionaires
and
billionaires
demanding too
much (too many
cars, too much
air travel
etc.) from a
planet that
cannot and
will not
deliver.
Yours
despairingly
