Dear Sir/Madam, I’ve been
trying to think of a response to the article by Mark Steyn in last Sunday’s Comment
and Opinion, but faced with such gross stupidity, I find myself lost for words
(Bush is right to put his foot on
the gas, ET Comment and Opinion, Sunday 20 May 2001). We are hurtling
down the motorway on a misty day at 120 mph, and Mr Steyn - in a state of
intoxication - suggests that the driver (President Bush) put his foot down
even more. Perhaps your
columnist – and those who permit him to propagate his ignorance on the pages
of your newspaper - will remember his words when pulling the dead and injured
from the tangled wreckage of the vehicle after it has crashed! |
