SIR - On the issue of paying schoolchildren to attend extra lessons, I agree with your correspondent Roger Hicks, that pupils should attend school of their own free will [School fees, Feedback, 6 December 1999].
I would also add that we are all responsible, not just the teachers, as Mr Hicks concludes.
