Dear Sir,

So, there are to be "No celebrations for the UK's 200th birthday", 11 February 2000.

I would hope not!

There is nothing to celebrate; just a mistake to commemorate!

As an Englishman I am sick and tired of our Union with Northern Ireland. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the IRA, and an equal lack of sympathy for self-righteous, bird-brained, bigoted Unionists who march through Catholic neighbourhoods each year rubbing in a military victory they had over them generations ago.

I'd like to pull the plug out and let the whole damned island sink to the bottom of the Irish Sea!
