SIR - Melita Norwood, lifelong communist, (as she stated), has no trouble living in a country that is free and has for the most part lived a life of luxury while trying to help the communists keep up with the rest of the capitalist world [Spy aged 87 may finally be charged, says Straw, 22 October 1999].
If she believed so strongly in that, why didn't she pack up and move to one of these communist nations. She is a traitor to her country and should be swinging from a tree.
