Cameron Diaz is now the highest paid female movie star, just ahead of Julia Roberts, having earned £25.8 million in 2001.

According to the latest Guinness Book of World Records, the 30-year-old is likely to be even richer this year - possibly by as much as £35 million - thanks to Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Shrek and Gangs of New York.

In contrast, Roberts, who is said to be still demanding up to £15 million per picture - like Diaz - is fading, with appearances in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Full Frontal that have hardly set the box office on fire.

Diaz and her boyfriend Justin Timberlake, 22, a pop singer, are said to be looking for a new home in Los Angeles where the actress already has a mansion in Beverly Hills.

The Guinness book says that Matthew Perry of Friends, who recently acted in London's West End, became the highest paid guest star by appearing on Ally McBeal in 2002 for a fee of £510,000.
