Dear Sir,

Without knowing anymore details than those given in the Telegraph, it seems to me absurd and shamefully unjust that a policeman should lose his job and career over a single slip, because under provocation and in the heat of the moment he called someone a "black bastard" (Pc loses plea to keep job after racist remark, 7 June 2000), while two years of daily abuse towards a German-born bus driver, causing him to become ill and leave his job, is dismissed as "good-natured banter" (Bus driver dubbed Herman the German loses racism claim, 6 June 2000).
