Re:    An important reminder of our animal origins
Date: Monday 22 May 06

Dear Sir/Madam,

Apropos the need to be reminded of our animal origins (Today's editorial: Our Hidden History):

Human societies, their economies and ways of life are, of course, also deeply rooted in man's animal nature, with free-market capitalism - dare I say it? - having developed and been honed to take maximum (and thus such effective) advantage of it.

This is not just of academic interest, since it reveals (to those willing to see) that our entire socio-economic order is inherently unsustainable (see email to your op-ed editor, now posted on my website: Evidence of our animal origins).

In view of the vested interests we ALL have in the status quo, it is not an easy situation to face up to. But if we remain in our present state of collective denial (afraid of biting the hand that feeds us), and persist in giving priority to the economy (the household of man) instead of to ecology (the household of our planet), even a President Al Gore will be unable to save us.
